About Dr Jonathan Slater
Dr Jonathan Slater is a Consultant Dermatologist currently practising at Guildford Hospital, part of Nuffield Health, and Mount Alvernia Hospital, part of Circle Health Group. He specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of skin conditions including acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and hair loss. He is also highly experienced in skin cancer diagnosis and management, including mole mapping, surgical excision, and photodynamic therapy. His clinical practice includes both general and aesthetic dermatology, offering procedures such as skin tag removal, cryotherapy, dermal fillers, and anti-wrinkle injections. Dr Slater originally trained at St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical School in London. After qualifying, he served as a Regimental Medical Officer in the British Army before working as a Principal in General Practice. He is also part of the Guildford Skin Cancer multidisciplinary team, working closely with oncologists, pathologists, and radiologists to provide integrated care for complex cases. His private practice includes full skin checks, mole assessments, diagnosis and management of benign lesions such as lipomas and cysts, and aesthetic procedures. Dr Slater is particularly known for his expertise in dermoscopy, having led educational workshops to support clinicians in identifying and managing suspicious skin lesions. He treats both adults and children, and regularly receives referrals for complex or longstanding dermatological concerns. Dr Slater is a member of the Royal College of Physicians, the British Association of Dermatologists, the British Society for Dermatological Surgery, the British Photodermatology Group, and the Royal Society of Medicine.
