Since 2009, I have worked within addiction services in Ireland, supporting clients in both residential and community-based settings as a facilitator and counsellor. My journey began with a full-time diploma in counselling with Addiction, completed in 2010, followed by an honours degree in counselling and psychotherapy, and later a Masters in Addiction Counselling. Throughout my working life, I have provided care and support across residential mental health care, specialist refuges for women affected by domestic violence, and most recently services for children and adolescents experiencing addiction and related challenges.
My passion lies in mental health awareness and addiction recovery, and I am deeply committed to trauma-informed, client-centred care. I strive to create a safe space for each person’s individual journey, grounded in evidence-based methods and authentic empathy. Alongside traditional therapy, I offer a unique integrative approach by incorporating physical wellness into recovery work, drawing on my qualifications as a personal trainer and fitness instructor. For those who enjoy it, I combine physical activity and therapeutic support to help clients build resilience and strength body and mind.
I also serve as a facilitator on the CHOICES programme, working with male perpetrators of domestic violence to support meaningful behavioural change. This intervention uses group and individual sessions to foster accountability, emotional regulation, and safe relationship skills, aiming to help build safer families and communities through a strengths-based, cognitive-behavioural approach.
Breaking down stigma and promoting holistic wellbeing have always driven my practice. I am passionate about supporting people of all ages to overcome barriers and experience transformative growth.
