About
Many people come to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed, carrying a quiet weight, stress that won’t let up, relationships that drain more than they give, emotions that feel too intense or too distant. Others because they are in a crisis, navigating deeper, longer-standing challenges, like anxiety, depression, addiction, past trauma or other mental health difficulties.
Therapy
Therapy with me is collaborative and tailored to you. I offer a therapeutic space where you won’t feel boxed into a one-size-fits-all approach. We’ll work together to untangle what’s going on, help you to reconnect with yourself and feel more in control.
Here's how one of my clients put it (verbatim with permission):
"Jeanine actually listens to you and is processing the information given. She engages, asks questions and makes you think about your issues with a different perspective. She makes me feel safe and able to open up to talk about topics I have been repressing for years, even issues in my childhood that I had forgotten about. Her calm and soft-spoken nature make her great for keeping me on topic and focused on the issues at hand when I start to ramble down the thought-train."
Having been employed in psychiatric hospitals for most of my career, I have extensive experience working with mental health issues ranging from everyday difficulties, such as low self-esteem, anger management, burnout, loss, redundancy, sleep disturbances, divorce, and relationship problems to the more established diagnoses and chronic symptoms of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, addiction, substance use, PTSD, OCD, EUPD, psychosis etc.
I am well-versed in many different types of evidence-based therapies, including DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) which is a practical approach for quick results; CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) which a changing thoughts-based approach; Psychodynamic Therapy which looks at the origins of our present difficulties from our past experiences; Schema Therapy which identifies the patterns behind what we do; and TA (Transactional Analysis) which is used to learn communication skills and improve relationships.
How many sessions will you need? We decide together what pace and approach of therapy best suits you so you feel safe, supported, and empowered. Therapy isn’t about ticking boxes; it’s about understanding what’s getting in the way of the life you want and working collaboratively to create space for change, clarity, and self-compassion. Whether it’s a one-off, just a few sessions, or a commitment to healing past wounds, I look forward to connecting with you to better understand and process the roadblocks that are preventing you from living a full and meaningful life.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
