About Dr Jason Chow
Dr. Jason Chow is a Consultant Medical Oncologist and the Head of the Department of Oncology at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Trust in London. He completed his medical training at Imperial College School of Medicine and trained in general medicine in London before specialising in Medical Oncology at Guy’s and St Thomas’s Hospitals and St George’s Hospital. He also holds a master’s degree in oncology from the Institute of Cancer Research. Dr. Chow is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) and an active member of the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO) and the Association of Cancer Physicians UK (ACP). His clinical expertise primarily focuses on the treatment of lung cancer and upper gastrointestinal cancers, including hepatobiliary and pancreatic cancers. As the Head of the Oncology Department and the lead for the Upper Gastrointestinal Cancer Multi-disciplinary team, Dr. Chow is dedicated to enhancing cancer diagnosis and treatment pathways. His leadership ensures that his patients benefit from the most up-to-date and effective treatments available. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Chow has a strong passion for medical education. He has served as the joint Training Programme Director for Oncology specialist registrars across St George’s Hospital and Guy’s and St Thomas’s Hospitals, and as a college tutor for Core Medical training doctors. Currently, he holds an honorary senior lecturer position at St George’s University London and has been involved in extensive teaching programs both within his department and across London. Dr. Chow is also actively engaged in clinical research, serving as a principal and chief investigator in numerous clinical trials focusing on lung and upper gastrointestinal cancers. His research collaborations span a network of specialists across hospitals in Southwest London, including St George’s, The Royal Marsden, and King’s College Hospital. His expertise in clinical governance, staff recruitment, and departmental management underscores his commitment to advancing oncology care. Dr. Chow regularly lectures at national and international conferences and contributes to undergraduate medical education at St George’s University London, where he also serves as an undergraduate medical examiner.
