About Dr Jane Democratis
Dr Jane Democratis is an experienced consultant in Infectious Diseases and Microbiology, having graduated from Liverpool University in 1998. She completed her higher specialist training in Infectious Diseases and General Medicine in the East Midlands and Oxford, as well as gaining clinical experience in Australia’s tropical Northern Territory. Dr Democratis has a particular interest in clinical trials for influenza and COVID-19 and has completed an MD researching antiviral resistance in influenza during her clinical fellowship in the Respiratory Virus Unit, now part of the UK Health Security Agency. In her current role at Wexham Park Hospital in Berkshire, Dr Democratis has been instrumental in setting up and delivering a viral hepatitis spoke service feeding into the Surrey Operational Delivery Network. She is also the clinical lead for the complex infection and Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) services. With her extensive experience in the field of Infectious Diseases and Microbiology, Dr Democratis is committed to providing high-quality care to her patients and making important contributions to research in the field.
