Darüber hinaus engagiert er sich humanitär als Mitbegründer der Organisation Healing Hands Bangladesh, mit der er unentgeltlich plastisch-chirurgische Operationen für Patientinnen und Patienten mit Verbrennungsfolgen oder Lippen-Kiefer-Gaumenspalten durchführt. Seit vielen Jahren ist er zudem Mannschaftsarzt des Halleschen Eishockeyteams und als Gutachter für plastische und handchirurgische Fragestellungen tätig.Darüber hinaus ist er ausgebildeter und zertifizierter Tauchmediziner sowie betreuender Taucharzt namhafter Tauchzentren auf den Malediven und Seychellen.Er ist Vollmitglied der Deutschen Gesellschaft der Plastischen, Rekonstruktiven und Ästhetischen Chirurgen (DGPRÄC) und des Berufsverbands Deutscher Chirurgen (BDC).
