About

Mr James Singleton is an experienced Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon with a specialised focus on knee disorders. Fellowship-trained in both trauma surgery and knee surgery, he offers expert care for knee sports injuries, soft tissue issues, and provides comprehensive management for all stages of knee arthritis. His expertise includes joint preservation strategies, osteotomy (knee realignment surgery), and partial and full knee replacement surgeries.

Mr Singleton established his practice at Frimley Park Hospital in 2017, where he provided individualised care for a wide range of knee problems, from sports injuries to arthritis. In 2024, he retired from his NHS role as a trauma and knee surgeon to concentrate exclusively on knee surgery.

With a background as a British Army officer and orthopaedic consultant, Mr Singleton served for 25 years before retiring from his military career in early 2024. He has published research on both civilian and military trauma and has served as an orthopaedic surgeon on operational tours in Afghanistan and the Middle East.

Mr Singleton graduated from University College London Medical School in 2002. He completed his orthopaedic surgical training on the prestigious Southwest Thames rotation in London and Surrey, which included two years of full-time post-doctoral research, earning an MD in Bioengineering from Imperial College London in 2016.

His special interests include knee surgery, ACL reconstruction, knee ligament surgery, knee arthroscopy, meniscal surgery and repair, osteotomy, partial and total knee replacement, patellofemoral replacement, and knee injections such as Arthrosamid® for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis and non-operative management of knee disorders.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”

— Mr James Singleton
