About
Throughout his career, Dr Farey has remained committed to maintaining high standards of clinical care and support for spinal patients, particularly in the public hospital system where he worked for many years as a VMO. He is also a prolific scientific researcher, presenter, and publisher in international journals and clinical textbooks, and was acknowledged for his leadership when he became President of the Spine Society of Australia in 2004.
Dr Farey's specialities include all aspects of spinal surgery, with particular interests in cervical spine surgery for cervical spondylosis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, trauma, and surgery for lumbar spinal canal stenosis. He is a member of the Cervical Research Society and has been recognised by his peers and patients as a highly skilled professional. Dr Ian Farey is a true leader in the field of spinal surgery in Australia.
