Dr Abtar is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and holds memberships in several professional organisations, including the Lebanese Society of General Surgery, the International Federation of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO), the European Association of Endoscopic Surgery, and the European Hernia Society. He has contributed to over 35 published scientific papers and serves as a reviewer for multiple international medical journals.
