He holds MSc and PhD qualifications and is a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG).

His areas of interest include menstrual disorders, endometriosis, fibroids, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), menopause care, contraception, and the investigation of abnormal cervical screening results. Mr Alaarag is trained in minimally invasive and diagnostic procedures, including laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, hysteroscopy, and colposcopy. His work includes both outpatient assessment and surgical management where indicated.
