About Dr Fahd Baig
Dr Fahd Baig is an academic consultant neurologist with a specialist interest in using botulinum toxin to treat movement disorders, including various forms of dystonia, tremor and spasm including blepharospasm. He sees private patients at 280 King’s Road, London, part of The Lister Hospital, HCA Healthcare UK where he provides both guided (using EMG and ultrasound) and unguided injections. He also runs an NHS practice at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where he has specialist botulinum toxin clinics including joint clinics with ENT, ophthalmology and neuro-rehabilitation specialists for complex patients. Dr Baig has extensive expertise in managing complex neurological conditions such as blepharospasm, hemifacial spasm, Meige syndrome, cervical dystonia, oromandibular dystonia, bruxism, tics, jaw tremor, Parkinsonian neck disorders, task-specific dystonias (including writer’s cramp and musician’s dystonia), as well as tremors of the upper and lower limbs. He offers injections using anatomical, EMG-guided and ultrasound-guided techniques. He began his neurology training on the Basic Neuroscience Training Programme in Oxford before pursuing specialist movement disorder training across the UK, including fellowships in Oxford, London and Bristol. His academic research into movement disorders formed the basis of his DPhil (PhD) at the University of Oxford. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Baig is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at St George’s University of London, where he researches innovative methods of monitoring and treating movement disorders. He has published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters and is internationally recognised for his contributions to the field.
