About
Dr O’Gorman has significant experience working with children and adolescents across a range of settings, including child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS), CAMHS for children with learning disabilities, specialist neurodevelopmental disorder services (ADHD, ASD and Tourette's), inpatient CAMHS eating disorders and paediatric hospital wards specialising in physical health difficulties alongside co-occurring mental health issues.
She holds a BA in Psychology and French from Trinity College Dublin, and an MSc in Mental Health Studies from King's College London. Dr O’Gorman has also completed a doctorate at the University of Bath. She is accredited by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and trained in Systemic Therapy with a foundation level accreditation from the Association of Family Therapy (AFT).
Dr O’Gorman is an integrative therapist, meaning she is trained in several approaches such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Systemic Therapy, and Compassion Focussed therapy (CFT). She is also highly interested in working with parents to support their parenting skills, and has experience delivering both one-on-one and group sessions. She utilises a strengths-based approach when setting goals with clients, which aims to empower them and promote internal motivation.
