About Dr Eddy Kizana
Dr Eddy Kizana is a cardiologist. Dr Kizana's research looks for ways of using genes or genetic material to replace cardiac devices to treat and prevent sudden death from heart rhythm problems. Dr Kizana also aims to understand the molecular basis of cardiac rhythm and conduction, and to uncover new molecular targets and approaches for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. Dr Kizana's research uses gene therapy in research models to alter the heart to positively affect arrhythmia to restore conduction following a heart attack in order to prevent sudden death and to turn heart cells into pacemaker cells with the capacity to beat on their own.
