About Dr William G Phillips
Dr William G Phillips is a Consultant Dermatologist with an interest in accurate diagnosis and effective treatment of all skin problems including sun-related skin damage, skin cancers, eczema and acne. Dr Phillips trained in General Practice and Internal Medicine in Taunton and Bath from 1985-90. From 1990-2 he was Registrar in Dermatology at Birmingham General Hospital and Birmingham Children's Hospital, gaining great general dermatology experience. He subsequently won a Wellcome Fellowship and Honorary Senior Registrar post at the globally prestigious St John's Institute of Dermatology at St Thomas' Hospital from 1992-1996. While in this post he had the privilege to train in advanced diagnostic dermatopathology. In 1996, he took up his first Consultant post at the Royal Free Hospital, London, and developed a busy private practice at 99 Harley St. In 2001, he moved back to his home town of Bath. From 2001-18 he was a consultant dermatologist at the Royal United Hospital, including spells as Clinical Lead for Dermatology and Chair of the local skin cancer multidisciplinary team (MDT). Dr Phillips retired from the Royal United Hospital in 2018.
