Dr Al-Sabbagh graduated from Damascus Medical School, Syria, in 1995. He then completed postgraduate training at Damascus University Hospitals where he became a GIM (General Internal Medicine) Doctor. Between 1999 and 2001 he worked in research regarding diabetic foot disease in Manchester Royal Infirmary, UK. He has also trained at College of Cranio-Sacral Therapy, London. He specialised in diabetes and endocrinology after attaining a Membership of The Royal College of Physicians at Ipswich and Cambridge University Hospitals, UK.

Dr Al-Sabbagh has an interest in new therapies and technologies in diabetes and endocrine care, he is a member of the diabetes and endocrine outreach team, the team won the national QiC (Quality In Care) award for their innovative approach to treat their patients.
