He also gained expertise in angina, hypertension, heart failure, palpitations, and syncope (fainting). He later became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in London and was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist in 2005.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr Katira holds significant roles in healthcare leadership and education. As a Senior NHS Consultant Cardiologist and Postgraduate Clinical Tutor at Whiston Hospital, St Helens & Knowsley Teaching NHS Trust, he leads various subspecialties including Community Heart Failure services, Nuclear Cardiology, and Coronary CT Angiography. Additionally, he serves as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds.
