About Dr Paul Loughlin
Dr Paul Loughlin is a psychiatrist based at the following practises: • The Princess Margaret Hospital • Cardinal Clinic • Brighter Spaces Guildford He specialises in neurological disorders and has an interest in the following areas: • Depression; • Bipolar disorder (previously manic depression); • Anxiety disorders • OCD; • PTSD; • Memory disorders Dr. Loughlin has worked in private practice since 2002. He gained his medical degree (MBBS) in 1992 from Bart's Hospital, University of London, and went on to become a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 1997. He is registered on the General Medical Council specialist register for both general adult psychiatry and older adult psychiatry. Between 2001 and 2015, he worked as a consultant psychiatrist for Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust before moving solely into full-time private practice. In addition to his clinical work, he also prepares medico-legal reports. Additionally, he is involved in research and his topics of interest include mood disorders and cognitive disorders. He is also involved in medical education and offers courses to GPS on managing mental health problems in primary care. He is a member of the British Association for Psychopharmacology and the Independent Doctors Federation.
