He has taken on leadership positions, currently holding the position of medical director for the South-East London Cancer Network and vice-chair for the upper GI Tumour Working Group. His clinical interests involve the systemic treatment of gastrointestinal cancers, including oesophageal cancer, gastric cancer, gastro-intestinal stromal tumours, small bowel malignancies, colorectal cancer, and carcinoma of unknown primary.

Dr. Maisey is an active member of several prestigious professional organisations, including the Royal College of Physicians, the Association of Cancer Physicians, the British Medical Association, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
