About Dr Nick Davies
I have broad experience of general neurological disorders gained through specialist training both in Birmingham and at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London. I have been a Consultant Neurologist since 2003 and my private practice allows me to keep up to date with the more common neurological diseases while the remaining part of my NHS job in Birmingham consists of specialist clinics in nerve (neuropathy), muscle (myopathy and dystrophy) and other rare diseases. I undertook four years of research under the auspices of UCL and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London. This included setting up a genetic diagnostic service for skeletal muscle ion channel disorders including myotonia, paramyotonia and periodic paralysis. These disorders are amenable to treatment and medications were also studied. While there, I was able to gain huge experience in the field of neuromuscular disorders.
"Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions."
