About Dr Krishna Basavaraju
Dr Krishna Basavaraju is a consultant gastroenterologist at West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St. Edmunds. His special interests and expertise are the management of patients with anaemia, inflammatory bowel disease, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, eosinophilic oesophagitis and liver diseases. He specialises in: • Inflammatory bowel disease • Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease • Nutrition • Colonoscopy/Gastroscopy/small and large bowel capsule endoscopy Dr Basavaraju graduated from Mysore University in India in 1994 before moving to the UK for further higher education and training. He completed his gastroenterology training on the southeast London rotation, which included training at the prestigious Guys and St Thomas' Hospital. During his time at St Thomas' Hospital, he trained in the management of inflammatory bowel disease and gastro-oesophageal disease patients. In 2009, he joined West Suffolk Hospital as a full-time consultant in gastroenterology and general medicine.
