Dr Jonathan Hoare, Consultant Gastroenterologist, currently works within the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust at St Marys's Hospital. Within his current position, he has taken on additional responsibility as the Head of Endoscopy, which he has held for 11 years.
Dr Hoare takes an active role in medical education, holding the position of Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London for the Academic Department of Surgery and Cancer. His excellent work on the colonoscopy insertion technique has been recognised by the field resulting in him being awarded the "Marsha Dreyer" research award by the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He is also an active researcher, having over 35 peer-reviewed publications on endoscopy and other aspects of gastroenterology.
