He also had additional surgical training at the St John's Institute of Dermatology. Dr Sahota became a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine (FRSM) in 2003 and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) in 2005. He is a former Secretary and Treasurer of the British Association of Dermatologists, as well as an International Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.

He is a past President of the Dermatology Section of the Royal Society of Medicine. He is the President Elect of the British Association of Dermatologists and will take office as the President in July 2026.
