Dr. Alice Freebairn is an experienced Clinical Oncologist specialising in colorectal, head and neck and skin cancers. She helped set up the skin cancer multi-disciplinary team in the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading with plastic surgeons and dermatologists in 2003, and is an integral member of the Oxford/Reading Head and Neck Cancer Multi-Disciplinary Team and the Reading Colorectal Multi-Disciplinary Team.
Dr Freebairn and fellow colleague Dr Dallas have introduced Head & Neck Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT) to all Reading patients.
Dr Freebairn and colleague Dr Gildersleve have also introduced IMRT for patients with anal cancer. Dr Freebairn is in the process of leading a project at the Royal Berkshire Hospital to bring in an acute oncology service at the weekends; always finding ways to improve the care offered to her patients.
