About Dr David Rigby
Dr David Rigby is a highly experienced Consultant Psychiatrist, specialising in general and older adult mental health. With over a decade of experience, he has worked extensively within the NHS, providing care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, as well as in specialist psychosis services and liaison psychiatry. Dr Rigby is committed to a person-centred approach, ensuring his patients feel informed, valued, and involved in decisions about their treatment. He believes in empowering individuals with knowledge about their mental health conditions and available treatment options, fostering a collaborative and respectful therapeutic environment. His qualifications include his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB), Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych), and a Diploma in Medical Education (DipMedEd). He also holds Approved Clinician Status and a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General and Older Adult Psychiatry. Beyond his clinical work, Dr Rigby has contributed to psychiatric research, including a publication on Section 12 approval in mental health law. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, spending time with his family, and exploring philosophy and physics through podcasts—interests that reflect his holistic approach to life and medicine.
