About Dr David McLaughlan
Dr David McLaughlan is a highly experienced Consultant Psychiatrist providing assessments and treatment at Priory Hospital Roehampton London. He graduated from The University of Dundee Medical School in 2009 and was the winner of The John Blair Trust Prize and American Graduates Prize in Pathology. During his time as an undergraduate, he also completed an additional degree in Neuroscience. Dr McLaughlan's clinical training began at the Chelsea Westminster Hospital in London, and he later attended the world-renowned Maudsley Training Program at The Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN). Following this he was awarded a Research Fellowship from IoPPN within their division of health service and population research. Furthermore, he was made a scholar of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and undertook further training at The Centre For Sustainable Healthcare in Oxford. After completing his training, Dr McLaughlan became an NHS Consultant at Lambeth Hospital where he worked with people experiencing severe mental health difficulties, providing assessments and treatments for them. In 2020, he began working in the independent sector as a rehabilitation psychiatrist and is currently the Clinical Director of an independent provider of mental healthcare. Additionally, he has been active in research and has contributed to numerous research papers and medical texts. His research interests include digital health, workplace wellbeing and first episode psychosis. Dr McLaughlan actively promotes equality and diversity, and he continuously supports LGBTQ+ charities.
