Dr David Liu is a Specialist General and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon. His practice spans across Melbourne's growing Northern, Eastern, and Western suburbs. Consultations take place at his primary offices located at Northpark Private Hospital,  Bundoora and Whittlesea Specialist Clinic, Whittlesea. Dr Liu attends to a diverse patient base, including private and uninsured individuals, WorkCover and TAC cases. In pursuit of advanced skills in Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery, he underwent additional training through the prestigious AANZGOSA program at institutions like Flinders Medical Centre in South Australia and Austin Hospital in Victoria. Dr Liu is a true specialist in various aspects of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery, with a particular focus on the treatment of oesophageal and stomach cancers. His team employs cutting-edge approaches for personalised preoperative and postoperative care, alongside utilising endoscopic, minimally-invasive, and open surgical techniques to manage these conditions. Beyond his core expertise, Dr Liu provides comprehensive management for a wide array of upper gut disorders, including acid-reflux, hiatus hernias, achalasia, and pharyngeal pouches. He is adept at handling general surgical concerns such as gallstones, abdominal wall hernias, and various growths. Dr Liu's dedication extends to research, education, and pioneering service methods.
