About Dr Damian Ryan
Dr Damian Ryan is a Specialist Orthopaedic Hand Surgeon with expertise in the management of hand and wrist conditions, peripheral nerve injuries, and microsurgery. His clinical interests include the treatment of arthritis of the hand and wrist, joint replacement, nerve compression syndromes, and wrist injury and reconstruction. He completed his orthopaedic training in Sydney, achieving Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 1991. Dr Ryan then undertook further subspecialty training at the Kleinert Institute in Louisville, Kentucky, a centre recognised internationally for excellence in hand and microsurgery. Dr Ryan gained extensive experience in arthritis management during 19 years of practice at the Institute of Orthopaedics and Rheumatology, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney. He is a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association and a member of the Australian Hand Surgery Society, the NSW Hand Surgery Association, the British Society for Surgery of the Hand, and the Australian Medical Association. Dr Ryan’s practice is focused on providing surgical care for patients with arthritis, traumatic injuries, and nerve-related conditions affecting the hand and wrist.
