Dr Clint Maart is a Consultant Interventional and General Cardiologist with experience in the diagnosis and management of cardiovascular conditions. Dr Maart has experience in complex interventional cardiology procedures, including the treatment of multi-vessel coronary disease, chronic total occlusions and calcified lesions, using advanced imaging techniques such as intravascular ultrasound and optical coherence tomography. He performs a high volume of coronary interventions annually, including participation in emergency treatment pathways for heart attacks.
He is also actively involved in clinical research and education. He has acted as a principal investigator in international multicentre trials focusing on coronary intervention and outcomes, and contributes to training and education within cardiology, including regional interventional training programmes.
Dr Maart completed his medical degree with first class honours at the University of Cape Town in 2002. He subsequently undertook postgraduate training in the UK, achieving membership of the Royal College of Physicians. He was awarded a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Leeds for research into coronary artery revascularisation and later completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of East Anglia.
He also runs a private cardiology service at Norfolk Heart Clinic, where he provides assessment and follow-up care for a range of cardiac conditions.
