About

Mr Babak Shariati FRCS is a Consultant Neurosurgeon with subspecialist expertise in spinal surgery. His clinical practice covers the full spectrum of spinal pathology, including degenerative, deformity, and complex cervical and lumbar conditions. He has a particular interest in minimally invasive and robotic spinal techniques, as well as endoscopic approaches for precision-driven treatment and faster recovery.

Mr Shariati graduated in 1998 from the Medical University of Łódź, Poland, where he also completed his neurosurgical training before working as a Specialist Neurosurgeon at Brodnowski Hospital in Warsaw. He went on to undertake a two-year skull base fellowship at Barts and The Royal London Hospital, followed by a spinal surgery fellowship at Nottingham University Hospital, gaining advanced experience in intradural and extradural tumour management, adult scoliosis, and craniovertebral junction pathology.

He has held consultant positions at the University Hospital of North Midlands, Sheffield, and Frimley Park Hospital, and currently works at Buckinghamshire NHS Trust. Mr Shariati performs a wide range of spinal procedures, including cervical fusion, disc replacement, laminoplasty, and minimally invasive discectomy, as well as diagnostic and therapeutic spinal injections.

A Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and a member of both AO Spine and the British Association of Spine Surgeons, Mr Shariati is also a Mentor at Buckingham Medical University and actively involved in spinal research and education.
