About
She specializes in treating clients with issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship problems, adjustment issues including new expat concerns, Borderline Personality Disorder, and problems with emotional dysregulation. Her integrative, client-centered psychotherapeutic approach incorporates comprehensive DBT, DBT-informed therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), mindfulness-based psychotherapy, and CBT as needed for the individual client.
Dr. Cooke is a U.S.-trained clinical psychologist licensed by both the Abu Dhabi Department of Health and in the Republic of Ireland. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1996 and has over 25 years of international experience in the USA, Ireland, and Abu Dhabi. She ran a private practice in North Carolina for a decade and has worked in various outpatient and inpatient settings, treating clients across the age span from children to adults to the elderly.
She is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), as well as having qualified for membership as a Chartered Psychologist in the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) and the British Psychological Society (BPS).
