About

Dr. Arifur Rahman is a highly experienced Consultant Psychiatrist with over a decade of clinical practice, specialising in adult ADHD and addiction psychiatry. He has worked extensively across the NHS and in leadership roles, including serving as Regional Lead Consultant for Lancashire addiction services and National Lead for Young Person’s Addiction Services.

A graduate of the University of Sheffield Medical School (MBChB), Dr. Rahman holds Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych), a Postgraduate Certificate in Adolescent Addiction Studies, and a Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in General Adult Psychiatry with an endorsement in Addiction Psychiatry.

Since 2004, Dr. Rahman has provided ADHD assessments within CAMHS services and, in 2008, established one of the first transitional ADHD clinics in the UK, supporting young people as they move from adolescent to adult care. His expertise in adult ADHD has been featured in national media, including The Times, helping to raise awareness about late diagnosis and the risks of misdiagnosis.

Dr. Rahman is also active in research and policy development, having published work in addiction psychiatry and contributed to the Royal College of Psychiatrists' adolescent addiction working group. He is committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care that supports patients throughout their mental health journey.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
