About Dr Angus Alexander
Dr. Angus Alexander is a Paediatric General Surgeon and Paediatric Urologist based at Westmead Children’s Hospital. His practice encompasses a wide range of surgical conditions affecting infants, children, and adolescents. Dr. Alexander began his medical career in General Surgery, where a rotation through a busy paediatric burns unit inspired his passion for paediatric care. The resilience and positivity of young patients, combined with the technical precision required in paediatric surgery, led him to pursue subspecialist training. He became a Paediatric Surgeon in 2006, followed by a Fellowship in Paediatric Urology at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto in 2008. With extensive expertise across both paediatric surgery and urology, Dr. Alexander provides comprehensive care for a diverse range of childhood surgical conditions. His dual specialisation allows him to manage complex cases requiring both general and urological expertise, offering families a clear and coordinated treatment pathway. Dr. Alexander is committed to ensuring families are fully informed and reassured throughout their child’s care. He takes time to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and the surgical process in detail, always prioritising safety, comfort, and understanding.
"Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions."
