Following their internship and residency at St Vincent's Hospital in Melbourne, they joined the Australian Orthopaedic Association training scheme, completing their fellowship exams and becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS).

Dr Salipas further advanced their skills through two international fellowships in Canada — one in Adult Hip and Knee Joint Replacement at the University of Western Ontario and another in Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine at the University of Alberta.
