About Dr Aldenb Lorenzo
Dr. Alden Lorenzo is an Australian-trained surgeon with expertise in Upper Gastrointestinal, Bariatric (Weight Loss), and General Surgery. Dr. Lorenzo completed his general surgery training at Westmead Hospital in Sydney, Australia. This foundation training provided him with a comprehensive understanding of general surgical principles and techniques. Following his general surgery training, Dr. Lorenzo was awarded a fellowship in general surgery in 2016. Dr. Lorenzo served as a Clinical Superintendent at Blacktown and Mt Druitt Hospitals for two years. He then pursued specialised training in upper gastrointestinal surgery at St Vincent's public and private Hospitals. This specialised training focused on complex cases involving severe reflux and complex hiatus herniae, especially in lung transplant patients. Dr. Lorenzo furthered his training with the Australia and New Zealand Gastric and Oesophageal Surgery Association (ANZGOSA) at Auckland City Hospital in New Zealand. This phase of his training concentrated on weight loss and revisional bariatric surgery, which is important for patients seeking surgical solutions for obesity. Dr. Lorenzo spent two years in Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital and Liverpool Hospitals, where he received training in upper gastrointestinal oncology. This included the treatment of cancers affecting the oesophagus, stomach, pancreas, and liver. Dr. Lorenzo is passionate about surgical education and has experience teaching medical students, registrars, and fellows. He is actively involved in research at Bankstown Hospital. Dr. Lorenzo holds multiple appointments at both public and private hospitals, including Bankstown-Lidcombe Public Hospital, Norwest Private Hospital, Lakeview Private Hospital, Westmead Private Hospital, Campbelltown Private Hospital, and Sydney South West Private Hospital.
