Dr Adarsh Dharendra is a highly experienced Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in adult psychiatry and substance misuse. He joined Priory Group in 2019 as a Consultant Psychiatrist at Priory Hospital, Bristol, where he provides services for NHS as well as privately referred patients/service users. Dr Dharendra has a wide range of experience in various mental health settings, including inpatient and community settings, assertive outreach and crisis teams, and intensive care mental health units.

Dr Dharendra has also provided consultant cover for the Eating Disorder and Rehabilitation wards at Priory Hospital, Bristol, and carries out mental health and capacity assessments for several County Councils, including Deprivation of Liberty and Safeguarding and Financial capacity assessments. He has given lectures on Deprivation of Liberty and Safeguarding (DoLS)-form 4: Medical Assessments for senior Social Workers and trainee Best Interest Assessors with the Hampshire County Council as a guest faculty for over 3 years.

Dr Dharendra is a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) since 2008 and has completed his core training in psychiatry with University College of London. He completed his further specialisation in Adult Psychiatry and Substance Misuse Psychiatry from the East of England Deanery and Wessex Deanery, respectively. He has been on the specialist register with GMC since 2014. Dr Dharendra is regularly sought for a second opinion by consultant colleagues and other psychiatrists and provides expert opinion on Medicolegal cases (court reports).
