They will also discuss the treatment process, including the duration of each session and the recommended number of treatments. At Tranquil TMS, they believe in taking the time to understand their patients, considering it crucial in assisting them on their journey to recovery.
The treatment session itself requires no preparation beforehand. Patients will be comfortably seated in a reclining chair, and a magnetic plate will be positioned above their head to target the desired brain area. The machine will then be activated, delivering magnetic pulses. Throughout the 20-30 minute treatment, patients remain awake, alert, and pain-free. Although it may sound scientific or intimidating, the treatment is painless and well-received by patients.
After an rTMS session, there is no recovery period, and patients can immediately resume their daily activities. Some individuals may experience mild scalp irritation or tingling after the first session, but these effects typically diminish with subsequent visits.
