Copper & Barr is a family-run eyecare business with a history dating back to 1925. Founded by William and Evelyn Cooper over 90 years ago on Grange Road in Middlesbrough, the practice has transitioned through three generations, serving over 25,000 patients across the North East and North Yorkshire.
Copper & Barr's journey has been marked by a dedication to clients' eyecare. In the 1930s, the practice, situated on Borough Road, became an iconic presence with its marble frontage and bright neon sign. Over the years, the business underwent transformations, transitioning to Cooper & Flower in the 1970s before assuming its current identity as Cooper & Barr in 2012.
Today, Copper & Barr proudly operates three thriving practices in the North East and North Yorkshire, including Stokesley, Sedgefield, and Thirsk. The Stokesley location can be found on Stokesley’s High Street. As a family-run practice spanning generations, the team maintains a commitment to preserving clients' eyesight. The ethos revolves around providing a first-class service with each visit.
The dedicated team at Copper & Barr ensures a comprehensive and diverse eyewear selection, ranging from frames by top designers and high fashion brands to budget-friendly options. Specialising in contact lenses, the practice offers multifocal lenses, gas permeable lenses, and Ortho-K overnight vision correction. Copper & Barr's optometrists also provide guidance on issues such as sore or red eyes, or blurry distorted vision.
