Hakkında
Mr Lindsey practices privately across London and works as an NHS consultant surgeon in London. He was appointed as the first truly dual NHS accredited vascular and renal transplant surgeon in London, working at the Royal Free Hospital before moving to Barts.
After medical training in London (UCL) he underwent higher surgical training in the UK and South Africa. He is a trusted choice for complex surgery in the UK and overseas. He has a track record of traveling to developing countries to train surgeons in both the practicalities of operating (Ghana, Jamaica, S.Africa, and Jordan) as well as peri-operative care (Singapore, India, and UAE).
He typically sees patients with hernias, lumps and bumps, and abdominal pain. His vascular practice includes varicose veins, aortic, carotid, and lower limb problems including the complications of diabetes. His renal failure practice comprises not only live kidney transplantation but also surgery to enable hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
He frequently provides medico-legal advice as an expert witness for complex vascular cases. He has spent time away from the NHS working in hyperbaric medicine for a diving charity (DDRC).
The following entry onto the specialist register he completed a trauma fellowship in Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town before working as a single-handed general surgeon at Eerste River Hospital just outside Stellenbosch.
Mr Lindsey was awarded a fellowship by the Royal College of Surgeons of England allowing him to undertake over 100 laparoscopic donor nephrectomy cases in a year split between Guys and the Royal Free Hospitals.
He was the clinical lead for renal transplantation and subsequently vascular surgery at The Royal Free Hospital, before moving to the Royal London Hospital 4 years ago.
Mr Lindsey has put together a team that has received research funding from the EPSRC to develop technology to improve the lives of patients on dialysis. He has considerable expertise in designing and delivering healthcare systems, as well as a track record of training surgeons in operative surgery both in the UK and overseas.
He chairs the London Kidney Network vascular access quality improvement program which will improve the quality of care delivered to the 6000 individuals dependent on dialysis in London.
He has co-authored and edited several contemporary surgical training courses for the Royal College of Surgeons of England as well as established these courses overseas. Mr Lindsey has appeared in the media participating in a live kidney transplant on Channel 5 in 2019.
