Mr Maziar Mireskandari is a Consultant Vascular Surgeon with expertise in both open and endovascular (minimally invasive) vascular procedures. He has been a Consultant Vascular Surgeon since 2008.
He trained in vascular surgery in London and has held senior consultant posts within major NHS vascular units. His clinical work includes management of complex aortic disease, including aneurysms, aortic dissection, and occlusive vascular disease. He performs both open surgical repair and endovascular stent-based procedures.
His specialist practice includes advanced aortic stenting techniques for complex aneurysmal disease. He has contributed to the development of institutional services in complex endovascular repair, including involvement in early adoption of stent-based interventions for extensive aortic pathology and the establishment of training in simulation-based endovascular techniques.
He also treats peripheral vascular disease, including lower limb arterial occlusive disease, with interventions such as angioplasty, stenting, and bypass surgery. He manages carotid artery disease for stroke prevention.
In addition, he provides treatment for venous disease, including varicose veins, using minimally invasive techniques such as endovenous laser therapy, radiofrequency ablation, and injection sclerotherapy.
He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery of Great Britain and Ireland and the European Society for Vascular Surgery.
