Dr. Hind Alrustamani is a skilled counselling psychologist and the visionary founder and CEO of Aman Lil Afia, a pioneering mental wellness clinic located in Dubai. With a commitment to providing a holistic approach to mental health, Dr. Alrustamani has dedicated her career to helping individuals overcome various challenges and achieve overall well-being.
Dr. Alrustamani initially pursued a Master's degree in Tropical Medicine from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in London, UK. She later earned a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Imperial College London, UK. However, as her career progressed, she discovered a passion for holistic mental well-being and pursued further qualifications in this specialised field. She obtained a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology from Webster University in Geneva, Switzerland, and became certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. She also received training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Art Therapy for adults and children.
Currently, Dr. Alrustamani works as a practising counsellor based in the UAE, specialising in a wide range of mental health issues, including anxiety, chronic illness, Adjustment Disorder, ADHD, depression, grief and bereavement, trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and internet addiction. She tailors her treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each client, ensuring personalised care and support.
Dr. Alrustamani has gained valuable experience in diverse settings in Geneva, Switzerland. She served as a Social Counsellor at the Tabyeen Center for Psychological & Family Counselling for 12 years, providing guidance and support to individuals and families facing emotional and psychological challenges. In her role as the Assistant Provost of Student Affairs Deanship at Zayed University, she played a crucial role in creating a positive and supportive environment for students. Additionally, she served as the Director of the Student Counselling Center at Zayed University, actively contributing to the development and implementation of a comprehensive counselling program. In these roles, she has helped numerous students navigate the challenges of academic and personal life, equipping them with the tools to succeed and thrive.
Dr. Alrustamani also holds a board member position at the Dubai Autism Center, where she advocates for the well-being and inclusion of individuals with autism spectrum disorders. She is also a valued member of the Emirates Society for Children and Adolescent Mental Health. Her dedication to improving mental health and well-being in the UAE is evident in her multifaceted roles and contributions to the field.
