About Mr Vincent Yip
Mr Vincent Yip is a consultant hepato-pancreatico-biliary (HPB) and general surgeon at the Royal London Hospital, Barthealth NHS Trust since 2018. He performs all general surgical operations and specialises in surgery of the (simple and abandoned) gallbladder, pancreas, and liver. His particular interest is in the use of minimally invasive approaches, specifically the use of the Da Vinci Robot, to treat complex HPB diseases. He is the current robotic HPB lead at the Royal London Hospital. After graduating from the University of Glasgow in 2000, Mr Yip completed his Doctor of Medicine research degree at the University of Edinburgh. From 2006 to 2013, he received advanced surgical training at the Mersey Deanery, where he gained expertise in pancreatic surgery under Professor John Neoptolemos and liver surgery under Professor Graeme Poston. He then completed a two-year post-specialist training fellowship in HPB and liver transplantation at Hong Kong University and King's College Hospital, focusing on cancers in the cirrhotic liver. Mr Yip has previously worked as a Consultant HPB Surgeon at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, the UK's biggest specialist pancreatic centre, where he served as the clinical lead for the pancreatic cancer MDT and pancreatic neuroendocrine service till 2018 when he moved down to London He has over 30 published papers and book chapters to his credit, as well as numerous national and international appearances. He is currently the principal investigator for a number of clinical trials at the HPB unit at the Royal London Hospital.
