He obtained his CCT from the London Deanery and trained at leading centres including St Thomas’, King’s College Hospital, Royal Free Hospital and St George’s Hospital. He completed advanced fellowships in Bariatric Surgery (Sunderland Royal Hospital) and Upper GI/Oesophago-Gastric Cancer Surgery (Nottingham University Hospital).
