About Dr Justin Greenslade
Dr Justin Greenslade is an Upper Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Surgeon with extensive experience in the surgical management of obesity and complex upper gastrointestinal disease. He completed his advanced surgical training in Queensland before undertaking four years of subspecialty fellowship training in upper gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary and bariatric surgery. His fellowship training included positions at Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide, the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, and the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield, United Kingdom. This provided him with broad international experience in both elective and complex upper gastrointestinal surgical practice. Following his return to Australia in 2005, Dr Greenslade was appointed Director of Surgery at the QEII Hospital in Brisbane, a position he held for nearly four years. He subsequently developed a substantial private practice with a primary focus on bariatric (weight loss) surgery, supporting patients in the long-term management of obesity and its associated metabolic conditions. In addition to bariatric surgery, he performs a range of laparoscopic general surgical procedures. These include laparoscopic hernia repair, fundoplication for gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, and laparoscopic cholecystectomy for gallbladder disease. His clinical approach is centred on minimally invasive surgical techniques, evidence-based practice and long-term patient outcomes. He works closely with multidisciplinary teams to support patients before and after surgery, with an emphasis on sustainable weight management and improvement of obesity-related comorbidities.
"Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions."
