About
Specialising in a wide range of gastrointestinal issues, Dr Giljaca addresses conditions such as dyspepsia, acid reflux, ulcer disease, liver and biliary system disorders including biliary stones, precancerous gastrointestinal conditions, polyps, and early cancers. He also focuses on pancreatic disorders and performs advanced and complex gastrointestinal endoscopy procedures of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract. Dr Giljaca conducts complex polypectomies and utilises advanced endoscopic procedures such as endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and ERCP for liver, pancreas, and bile duct conditions.
Dr Giljaca is known for introducing new procedures to the West Midlands and advocating for innovative advanced endoscopic procedures in the region, such as Endoscopic Submucosal Resection and Full Thickness Resection of gastrointestinal polyps and early cancers. He has contributed to various medical journals with several scientific papers.
Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Giljaca holds professional memberships with the British Society of Gastroenterology and the European Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, where he has served on the Quality Improvement Committee. He actively participates in advanced training for registrars and fellows in gastroenterology and regularly lectures on gastroenterology topics for medical students in Birmingham.
