Ms Shedda began her medical career in 1996 when she graduated from the University of Melbourne. She then undertook general surgery training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital before completing a master's degree in public health. She pursued a fellowship in 2008, which enabled her to train in Australia, New Zealand, and the Cleveland Clinic in the United States.
Ms Shedda has a passion for medical education and achieved a graduate diploma in university teaching in 2012. Recently, she has also added law to her repertoire of knowledge and was awarded her Juris Doctor degree in 2021 after studying at RMIT University. Ms Shedda has also spent time at Gizo Hospital as a volunteer surgeon where she spent time teaching and performing surgical procedures.
Ms Shedda is also a member of the Court of Examiners at RACS (Royal Australasian College of Surgeons) and has been appointed as chair of the RACS Victorian State Committee.
