Professor Dorudi qualified at medical school in London and then trained in general and colorectal surgery in Oxford and London. He now works in private practice and was formerly medical director at The (HCA) Princess Grace Hospital before his appointment to the same role at Mayo Clinic Healthcare in October 2023.
Professor Dorudi's laboratory-based research focused on improving the prognostic stratification of colorectal cancer patients following surgery and the immunology of differing colorectal cancer phenotypes. His main research focus now centres around the development of tools to measure and optimise outcomes in patients who have undergone major abdominal surgery. He currently co-supervises a trainee surgeon undertaking a PhD studentship on this work.
