About Mr Simon Clarke
Mr Simon Clarke, Consultant Paediatric Surgeon and held the position of Clinical Lead for Surgery for the North Thames Rotation as well as the role of Clinical Director of Children's Surgery at the Royal Brompton Hospital and Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust. He has over 26 years of experience in Paediatric Surgery, and specialises in minimally invasive procedures for gastroenterological issues like inguinal hernia, reflux and lower GI conditions. Mr Simon Clarke qualified in Paediatric Surgery at Great Ormond St Hospital, St. Georges, and Chelsea & Westminster. Following his education, he held an Associate Professorship in Hong Kong. He has had an active role in the research community, resulting in the publication of over 50 peer-reviewed articles, and 5 book chapters. He also is an educator, creating and running courses on minimally invasive procedures and the simulation of operations. Previously, Mr Clarke has held the position of a board member on the UK and Ireland Training Committee. With over 17 years as a Consultant, Mr Clarke is highly experienced and has won 9 Clinical excellence awards during this period. He was also appointed President of the British Association of Paediatric Endoscopic Surgeons In 2017.
