Mr Sam Datta

Mr. Soumendra (Sam) Datta is a Consultant Urologist / Associate Professor of Urology based in Essex, with expertise in managing a wide range of urological conditions in men and women. He practices at Springfield Hospital and Oaks Hospital, working in close coordination with East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust to provide integrated private care.

Mr. Datta holds a medical degree from University College London, where he also completed an intercalated degree in neuroscience and graduated with distinction in medicine and surgery. His academic background includes a Master’s and Doctorate in neuro-urology, earned through research undertaken as a Royal College of Surgeons Fellow at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. He completed specialist urology training through the Hammersmith Hospital Surgical Rotation and the North Thames Deanery, qualifying as a Consultant Urological Surgeon in 2012.

Mr. Datta offers prompt diagnosis and treatment for a broad spectrum of conditions involving the kidneys, bladder, prostate, and genitalia. He has developed particular expertise in treating urinary stone disease using minimally invasive surgical techniques, as well as managing elevated PSA levels, recurrent infections, haematuria, and erectile dysfunction. He also treats bladder disorders in women and paediatric urology cases. In addition to clinical practice, he is the undergraduate urology tutor at Colchester Hospital and holds Visiting Associate Professor  at Anglian Ruskin Medical School
