About
His subspecialties include keyhole kidney surgery and treatment for stones using laser fragmentation. He has developed particular expertise in surgery for enlarged prostates, including HoLEP (Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate), proven to be more effective than traditional prostate operations.
He began his career at Oxford University with a degree in Physiological Science in 1989 before continuing his studies at Cambridge University, gaining his Medical Degree in 1991. He completed specialist training on the Edinburgh urology rotation.
He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. He educates fellow healthcare professionals in urological procedures including kidney surgery and HoLEP laser prostatectomy.
