About Mr Robert Lee
Mr Robert Lee is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Spinal Surgeon at The Wellington Hospital, working within the hospital's internationally renowned Spinal Unit. He routinely treats highly complex cases that have been referred from centres around the UK. He has extensive experience in complex adult degenerative disease, deformity (spondylolisthesis and adult scoliosis), sacroiliac joint fusion, revision cases, infection, tumour (primary and metastatic) and trauma work. He specialises in posterior and anterior minimally invasive fusions and decompressions, with the emphasis on preservation of the paraspinal musculature and fast rehabilitation. Mr Lee was fellowship trained in Vancouver, Canada, where he developed his expertise in computer-navigated spine surgery (O-arm and stealth navigation). He has performed more than 1,000 cases using this novel technology. Mr Lee speaks regularly at international and national conferences, and is a faculty member on many courses on minimally invasive techniques. He has published extensively and his current research interests are the outcomes after minimally invasive surgery, adult deformity correction and computer-navigated spinal surgery. He is the National Lead of the British Spine Registry and is a fellow of the Scoliosis Research Society.
